What does the "string of pearls" indicate?

On the left, it's a trending indicator - your range is headed down; on the right it's a graphic display of charge/discharge rate - you're charging ever so slightly (surprised the regen light is not on)..

Thank you for the explanation. I've been guessing at its meaning to avail, don't recall seeing it in the owner's manual, either.
