    I test drove a Tesla??

Yep, it's awesome that they're still supporting an out of production model like this. The "3.0" upgrade is done at cost, and the wait time is reflective. Some getting it are reporting a 15-month wait after a $5K deposit to get in line. The original battery pack is taken out and replaced with an...

    I test drove a Tesla??

Yes, Lotus made the chassis and body of the Roadster to Tesla engineering's specs. Final assembly was by Tesla with their own electronics and drivetrain. Lots of interesting history behind it! https://www.tesla.com/blog/lotus-position

    2014 sparke collector car?

Tesla Roadster - ~2,500 produced. Prices on these seem to have bottomed out over the past year. This is credited as the car that made EVs cool and viable. Rare enough that newer Tesla owners and even employees don't know about it. Another noteworthy EV (ok ok it has a gas generator): Fisker...

    I test drove a Tesla??

Which battery and motor(s) were on the Model S you drove? We have an 85D as our family mover, and the difference in performance and ride quality is very noticeable. Put the pedal to the ground in the S and all four wheels propel it to 60 in 4 seconds without a chirp. Do the same in the Spark...

    Fake noise maker

I didn't realize until this thread that the sound was artificial. Now it's going to bother me every time I hear it . Not nearly as obnoxious as the Fisker Karma though (has speakers in front and rear bumpers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABlWqBB6zPE

Wanting to lease but located in Texas....

Mine was the same story. GM program vehicle that had never been titled. I didn't ask them if the car would be eligible for the credit, after they offered me free oil changes to sweeten the deal . Doing my own research and asking other EV enthusiasts, the only thing that should matter is...

Wanting to lease but located in Texas....

Why no tax credit? Was it previously titled? I did notice it has over 5,000 miles, which suggests it was previously owned. If so, the dealer is asking way too much and the car will sit for a while.

    Caution on the tax credit

On the IRS form: "If you are the seller of a qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle... to a tax-exempt organization, governmental unit, or a foreign person or entity, and the use of that vehicle is described in section 50(b)(3) or (4), you can claim the credit, but only if you clearly...

    Prospective Sparker

It's certainly doable. With a 20-mile round trip work commute, you're looking at finding a charging station every 2-3 days to top off. Looking at plugshare.com, there are several SAE Combo fast chargers around you, so if you get the DC fast charge option on the car you will be golden. You can...

2014 Spark EV 125 miles "new, never titled"

Wow, that is a deal! Mine was very similar. Used, never titled. Except my cost was 16K AFTER all incentives . Was 26K out the door with tax, title, etc. Any idea why the sales price was so low? Had it been sitting for a long time? Congrats and welcome! Mine also has the DC fast charge...

Wanting to lease but located in Texas....

So I did buy it and have been loving it so far. And apparently the dealer is also sold on the potential of the car... because they just brought in another one! :) I don't believe it is listed yet, but if anyone is interested, it's at Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land. It's blue and appears to be a...

Unbelievably Bad EV Driver Charging Etiquette.

At least it's actual plug-in vehicles taking up the spots. Here in Texas, public chargers are commonly blocked by ICE vehicles, sometimes intentionally. In the Volt community, it seems to be commonly accepted that the cord is yielded to BEVs because they actually need it. I've sat in my Volt a...

I want one!! Letter from GM concerning out of state Spark EV

I just bought mine from a Texas dealer. Before I left, they introduced me to the service manager who said it'd be no problem to service, as it has enough in common with the Volt and gas Spark to get at most potential issues. Fingers crossed!
