Anyone or know of anybody holding out for an EV Sonic ? Instead of the Spark EV ? The new Volt 2.0 will be interesting to observe, they could also cut into Spark EV or Sonic EV sales?

Just park the car under a 500,000 volt power transmission line. The metal body will pickup all kinds of induced voltage.

Actually the traction motor generates AC when in down hill regen mode.the inverter/converter electronic drive power modual rectumfies the AC from the motor/generator's stator windings into DC .

Let's not forget that adding twice as much fuel into an airplane's tanks or twice as many amp/hr of batteries into an EV. Doesn't double the range.

DC to DC converter is far more efficient and lighter than a belt and alternator.

I don't see how a 6.6Kw charger is a whole lot more $$$ to install in a Volt or Spark than a 3.3Kw.

I'm hesitant to drive a small vehicle in a snow storm on roads with full sized cars, pickup trucks, buses and semi's.

I'm more into practicality.

Some battery compositions actually improve from brand new and peak somewhere around 20-30% into their service lift.

I'm going to feeli guilty now when reminding everyone that the Spark EV is sort for sale across all of Canada for "fleet". Have four GM vehicles licensed and in your name then the volt will be the 5th or more to quality you as a fleet operator.

We would not get out very much if we waited for ploughed roads, let alone bare roads. It's not unusual to have the bottom of the vehicle dragging in the snow in mornings before the snowplough or after they ploughs have been pulled from the road for the evening.
