    Fun with tires at Costco

Needing new front tires for my '14 Spark EV I started looking around on line. Lo and behold Costco still has 185 Bridgestone Ecopias. I have these tires on now and they're OK for me (much better that the Ecopia 110's that came on the car) so I had them order some and went in to have them...

    2018 Nissan Leaf

It depends. What's the real range? What's the real price? Whats the styling? And make that in person please as Nissan is rather hit or miss stylistically these days. And most importantly, what's the thermal management system for the battery? Then we'll see.

Insanely high insurance on Spark EV??!@!

As Smokey Robinson sang, "You Better Shop Around". A '14 Spark EV and a '17 Hyundai Elantra GT, full coverage with low deductibles and high limits, clean records, 825-850 credit, suburbs of Portland, $531 for six months thru Progressive. State Farm is telling you to bend over.

    Future battery replacement

While you are almost undoubtedly correct that the Spark's lifespan coincides with the death of the battery, I have to say that I had very good results with a rebuilt Prius battery (GreenTecAuto). Interestingly they don't do Volt batteries, NiMH might be easier to work with than Lithium. Sad...

Andersen EV is taking pre-orders for a stylish charge point

$1561.46 the EVSE for those with more money than sense! And I contend that my Bosch has a fairly minimalist design.

Does Onstar cause charging problems? help

Where are you finding this in the manual? In certain cases the local utility can send a message thru OnStar to delay charging until the grid is less fully loaded. I believe you have to agree to this beforehand and in any case a popup message should appear on the screen if this happens.

    OnStar and MyChevrolet App Functionality

While it was nice to be able to check the state of charge through the app the features I lost were not worth anything close to $25. I just don't see on star as anything more than fluff.

    Noises at shut down

The noises are absolutely normal. What's really interesting is to be working in the garage when the car is plugged in and charging. Every so often you can hear pumping and other noises, they're good noises as the Spark's thermal management keeps the battery young longer.

New Comparison site for EV emissions

Now this is more like it. A 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV charged in 97068 produces about as much global warming pollution as a gasoline vehicle getting 111 miles per gallon.

    Chevy Bolt owners?

I'd really been anticipating the Bolt and my lease was coming to term so when a local dealer got some in I was down for a test drive right away. My pen was in hand. my checkbook in back pocket, and I was just itching to use them to make a down payment. In many ways it's a Spark but more so...

Buying 2014 Spark EV... need guidance from seasoned owners.

I'd say its a bit high too. I had a lease through US Bank and I bought the car at lease end for a little under 9100 with 31K miles.

    Sport mode not working

I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe all sport mode does is remap the accelerator pedal so that you get more oomph with less press of the pedal. Floorboard it and there is no difference. It's akin to changing the taper on a potentiometer.
