Get Spark to go 100 miles?

Living on the peninsula, San Mateo County, with 15000 miles I have 5.9 m/kwh. 90% of my driving in at speeds lower than 50 mph. I regularly get 7+ running around town for 20 or so miles per trip. 100 miles sounds easy.

    Help for a prospective owner...?

Another option would be to ship the car from Auburn to Reno. I know some here have shipped them to various locations around the U.S. Good luck, regardless!

anybody have the "service vehicle soon light" come on?

Personally, I would take a picture of the screen capturing the image of the mileage and error and take it and the car to the dealer. Even if they do nothing your documentation might be useful if the electrical/charging/whatever system fails later, in or out of warranty. If it were a lease I'd...

Um, real men ride fixed. Single speed is for girlies :)

    Fit a bicycle??

never tried that but my 57cm road frame with traditional racing geometry and drop bars fits if I remove both wheels. The front passenger seat needs to be all the way forward and unuseable for passengers. you could take the bike to a dealer with a gas or ev spark for sale and try it out. Wrap...

My five month review of the Spark EV

"There's a big difference between "the lack of ability to flash the high beams" and "it's annoying" " is a constructive response and correct. Edit my original post to read "When you pull back on the stalk, which in most? many? every other car I've driven or drive, trigggers a short flash of the...

My five month review of the Spark EV

"I know it's tough to have to push the switch twice, but life's like that..." Of course you can do that, but if you drive more than one car it is an annoyance (and perhaps dangerous).

    dash vent rattle

Funny you should ask: Boardwalk Chevrolet in Redwood City, CA ordered a new vent piece (it pops out quite easily) and installed it two days ago. The installer said the replacement part seemed to fit more snuggly and so far the noise is gone. "So far" meaning no noise in about 80 miles where...

California Rebate - likelihood of new funding?

The rebate should last a lot longer than the stock of new sparks.

My five month review of the Spark EV

I also love this car. The main annoyance to me is the inability to park it, sit in it and listen to the radio for more than 10 minutes without having to restart it. And the lack of ability to flash the high beams. If I drove fast that would be a deal breaker. Just a major annoyance now.

Anybody buy spark their at end of the lease? $?

*Or buy another while you can. I know I would regret not having this car 5 years from now. Maybe even 10.

    End of Lease

I bought my spark instead of leasing it because I want to keep it long-term. I have a 40 mile round trip commute that I drive 2 or 3 times a week, a bicycle and a gas burner, so it is perfect. I paid, after CA and Fed tax credits/rebates, less than $14k "out the door." Many have done better...

    Blank display on start up

When it happens take a video. My info screen malfunctioned and the dealer couldn't replicate it. He told me to take a video, which I did, making them a dvd of it, and that did the trick. They replaced the head unit. Good luck.

Any Spark EV Owners in North Carolina?

It has been suggested to others in locations where the Spark ev isn't marketed that they check with local Chevy dealers before purchasing. I believe for the most part any dealer that services the Volt can service the Spark ev. Good luck to you. I think it would be cool to have the only one around.
