The only thing they ask for is the car's registration. I got a quote to have it installed in my garage. It was pretty outrageous (<$2400). I'll just purchase the unit and hire a less expensive electrician (which shouldn't be hard to do).

The car defaults to 8 amps after every drive. So, unless you change it every time, you're stuck at 8 amps. 120V x 8 amps = 960 Watts. Round up to 1kw and my car is averaging 4.4 miles/kwh so you'll get between 4-5 miles per hour on 120V.

I just drove the Spark EV to work today. Started with an 89 mile range full charge. Got to work with a 97 mile range. Total drive was 9.68 miles and computer reported 9.1m/kwh. Drive was slightly downhill with many stop lights. Will update after my drive home.
