    Bolting

As my 2015 SparkEV lease is ending soon, I went car shopping as I wasn't sure if I'll keep the Spark. Work is now 80 miles, making it hard on now 17 kWh SparkEV. I was looking to buy rather than lease since I wanted to have trailer hitch for bike racks and it seems all EV require some plastic...

What is your battery degradation in SW US?

Some places in Southwest US recently hit 118F. Vegas hit 117F, the highest in recorded history. If you live in hellish hot areas, what was the battery capacity before and after this event? Did you have SparkEV plugged-in throughout the ordeal or did you have it sit under the hot sun? If you...

SparkEV is the most efficient car in the world

Doing some research, I find that SparkEV is the most efficient car in the world, EPA be damned. Details are in my blog post. I don't know why it took so long to realize this when the facts were staring me in the face all this time...

SparkEV 1000 km in 16 hours video

I wrote in my blog post of theoretical possibility of 1000 miles a day (24 hours) with SparkEV, and there's a video of someone doing 1000 km in a day (16 hours). While that's "only" about 950 miles in 24 hours, it's still pretty damn good for a car that's rated for 82 miles range EPA. I suspect...

    SparkEV around the world

It seems many people outside of official for-sale states (CA, OR, MD) drive SparkEV. It would be interesting to see where in the world people drive it. If you have a photo of a landmark with SparkEV, posting that will be great. I wonder if there's a way to add to google maps (or bing maps or?)...

    Peak power out of battery

Chevy states SparkEV is capable of 103 kW (or is that 105 kW?). But what is the peak power out of the battery? I thought I saw the display jump to 110 kW, but is there any doc / info that shows definitely what the peak power from the battery is?

2015 Chevy Spark parts for sale (San Clemente)

Just came across this in Craigslist, and thought it might benefit those who need parts. Even though the title says Spark, it's actually SparkEV with wrecked doors. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/pts/5565557066.html

New Spark EV pricing too low?

From Autotrader, some dealers are showing new 2016 SparkEV at $19K, $20K, $21K, ... I thought they were post incentive, but OR doesn't have state incentive. That would mean $21K in OR could not include the fed incentive; otherwise, it would be $28.5K, far more than MSRP. So the question is, are...

    Jack points and tire rotation

Is there a photo of jack points? I'm trying to use 3 ton jack so I can lift the front / back for tire rotation, but there doesn't seem to be a single place to lift both wheels with one jack. Even using 2 jacks, there doesn't seem to be a "notch" along the seam to indicate where to jack. After...

    Fake noise maker

This was in "Spark EV - An affordable electric racecar" and pulling it out here since it's not relevant to his topic. When I tried this, warning icon popped up with "P" letter and check engine "idiot light" came on. I don't know what it means, so I reconnected it. Unfortunately, I forgot to...

    Does rear brake wear quicker?

I have about 7200 miles, mostly in D. I was looking at brake rotors, and the front still shows some crosshatch pattern. It looks like it didn't wear at all since last I looked 4000 miles ago. But the rear is smooth. Does the rear brake engage as soon as brake pedal is applied? If so, it would...

Request for comment: ICED, Leafed, Leaf*cker

I got so fed up with Leaf, that I wrote several blog post about it. I harped on their slow charging, but latest one's specially for terms. Leafed (like Iced), and Leaf*ckers who purposely take dual head charger when perfectly good Chademo is empty next to it. What do you think? :twisted...

    PG&E EV charging stations reduced

Does anyone know what PG&E is planning? http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/10/17/california-hits-brakes-electric-vehicle-infrastruc.aspx If it's DCFC (hopefully CCS), even 1000 additional would be useful. But L2 is pretty useless as I see most L2 chargers not being used even today. At...

Spark EV sold out in San Diego and LA?

I did a quick search through Chevy web site, and it lists no SparkEV available in 10 dealers or 250 miles from San Diego. Is it sold out? I read in forums that it's seller's market now, are they selling it much above MSRP (25K?) I'm glad I got mine, but friends can't even find one anymore.

    Public charging competition

After doing some math, Blink is outrageously expensive at $0.49/kWh ($0.59/kWh for non members or DCFC). Home is $0.17/kWh, eVgo DCFC is $0.16/kWh (before membership; after depends on how much you use). How does Blink expect to have any customers at such high cost? Some others claim "free", but...
