I'm considering buying a GM extended warranty for the Spark as I plan to keep it for a long while. The GM platinum service plan was quoted to me at $1180, up to 72K miles, three and half more years AFTER my CPO coverage expires.

The only things this plan doesn't cover are: exterior dings/body damage, trims, speakers, key fob, and TPMS.

What do you guys think? Good deal?

To answer you honestly, I don't think it is a wise investment.

Reliability of electric over gas seems fairly significant. It's more electrics and electronics which will put failures early and late in life with very few failures during the period where you are paying for insurance.
