I know that it is really unnecessary, especially in San Diego climate and on 36mo lease, but....
I want to install the little felt rings on the battery terminals and grease them up accordingly.
I have always done it on all my cars and I hope it saved me some grief somewhere down the road. :geek:

Has anyone done the disconnect yet and what did you have to reset afterwards. Radio stations, clock, anything else?
Thanks in advance,

I didn't have to reset anything when I had mine disconnected, there must be a small battery in the computer that stores all that information.

Thank you xylhim, this makes it an easy choice.

Does anyone have a logical explanation of these statements from the owner manual page 10-14:

Reconnecting the 12-Volt Black
Negative Cable
With the 12-volt black negative (−)
cable disconnected, the hatch
cannot be opened by pressing the
hatch release button. If the hatch is
closed and latched, reopen it:
1. Use the door key to open the
driver door.
2. Manually unlock and open one
of the rear doors.
3. Lower one of the rear seatbacks.
4. Pull the load floor cover forward
to access and reconnect the
12-volt battery black negative (−)
cable.

Is there a chance that ICE version has the battery in the back?

I've disconnected and reconnected my 12V battery many times. I can confirm that you will not lose any settings or have any other noticeable effects after reconnecting the battery. I have never disconnected it for more than a day or two, so I'm not sure how it works out with longer disconnect periods.

That looks to be lifted from the Volt manual.
