New car key

Anyone have an idea how much a new car key for the Spark EV would be?

I didn't lose a key but I only have one key and have been thinking of getting a second for backup. With it being a smart key and all I am bracing myself for the cost...

I can certainly go to the dealer and ask, but thought I would get some ballpark figures and/or alternatives first, in case anyone has replaced one.

Alternatives to the OE key? No such thing.

Just call the dealer parts department to get a quote. You can of course call multiple dealers but other than that you have no real other options. The online parts places only have the key for the ICE Spark: http://www.gmpartsdirect.co/auto-pa...s-entry-components-scat/?part_number=95233524

My guess: $80 for the hardware and $30 activation.

I think you could just buy a replacement and program it yourself. Google is your friend.
